This fabric bleeds its colour. It is recommended to wash it with a colour catcher on its own prior to sewing (a colour catcher is included in your order). If the colour that is caught in the catcher is strong after the first wash we recommend washing again to avoid colour coming off onto lighter colours that you might wear.
